Graham “Mero” Merrigan is part -time local celebrity who has attended more weddings and christenings than the Holy Spirit and Jesus combined. He is 36-years-old and is born and bred in the heartland of South Dublin, Ballybrack.
Having completed a diploma in media studies, Graham cemented his celebrity status when he appeared in three television adverts within a year. This made him as well-known as Barry Scott from Ciliit Bang and the weird eyebrow kids from the Cadbury’s ad a few years ago.
Mero is a wheelchair athlete who has rolled around the world and back. Having tasted the exotic offerings of New Zealand, Australia, Cambodia, Japan, Vietnam, Termonfeckin and Bray (Bré); Mero is adamant that there is no finer view than Killiney Bay from the Vico Road and you won’t get a better school than St. Laurence College.
He is currently the captain of wheelchair basketball team, Ballybrack Bulls and claims to have beat Michael Jordan in at least four Slam Dunk contests. Mero fulfilled his dream of appearing on RTE's hit soap, Fair City, when he played the part of "Rocco". A statue of Rocco now sits outside Carrigstown's Spar with the immortal words "Any Parking?" etched into the base.
Mero lives in Dublin, Ireland and is credited as the first person to complete Tinder. You will find him in Ballybrack singing Christy Moore songs out of key and off pace.
